Engage Jeffco Endorses Initiative #195 – Graduated Income Tax in Colorado

Engage Jeffco endorses Initiative #195 for a statewide graduated income tax. If passed, Initiative #195 will replace Colorado’s flat income tax with a graduated income tax, cutting taxes on the 97% of Coloradans making less than $500,000 per year and increasing taxes on the 3% making more. The measure is expected to raise $2.0 billion per year for K-12 public education, health care, and early child care and education.

You can read more about the initiative at the Protect Colorado’s Future Coalition website.

Then she went home, turned on the television and learned that Gov. Jared Polis, whom she said had pledged to take care of the people of Colorado, including their children, had vetoed the bill the community had spent eight months fighting for.
