Engage Jeffco – Putting the public back in public education
April Accomplishments
-
Your voice matters! Thank you to those who wrote letters, attended meetings and advocated for equity. Because of active, committed community members of Jeffco, we have some celebrations!
-
As a result of community engagement, the District adopted a resolution in February in support of immigrant students and a clear protocol for schools if ICE were to enter a Jeffco school.
-
Jefferson Jr/Sr High School’s advocacy is working! The District listened to the passionate voices of the community and committed to not closing it for the 2025-2026 or 2026-2027 school year. We will continue to work with the Jefferson community and will be addressing the BOE with them during the April meeting on plans for moving forward.
-
We are continuing weekly meetings addressing: Grassroots organizing and advocacy, mental health, challenges with SPED in the district, connecting with community partners, and engaging with Jeffco District Staff.

Thank you!
We were so happy to meet so many new, passionate members of Engage Jeffco’s community at our happy hour gathering on March 30th. Let’s plan another! Who has ideas of locations and venues that would be a great space to meet up next time? Email ideas to engagejeffco@gmail.com
